Loyola patient feels closer to dad after struggle with kidney disease
Daniel Danko was diagnosed with high blood pressure in his 20s and then polycystic kidney disease in his 30s. Luckily, his wife, Marilyn, was a very good match. During his medical struggle, Mr. Danko thought much about his father, who died at 43 from polycystic kidney disease. Dr. Susan Hou, Mr. Danko's nephrologist, discusses the responsiblity of receiving a gift organ. Many people die waiting for one.
