Ophthalmology

From the moment your baby’s eyes first open, vision becomes one of the most powerful tools he or she has to learn about the world. The Ophthalmology program at Ronald McDonald® Children’s Hospital of Loyola is dedicated to diagnosing and treating vision disorders and defects in children from a very young age. Conditions we treat include:

  • Corneal infections
  • Inflammation of the iris
  • Eye movement disorders
  • Strabismus or Lazy eye
  • Impaired vision
  • Retina disorders
  • Retinopathy of prematurity

Our board-certified ophthalmologists provide the latest in both general and specialized eye care for infants and children, including vision testing, prescription glasses, contact lens fittings, visual field testing, corneal surgery and corneal transplants.
